TRAVELING FROM GERMANY

Garmisch-Partenkirchen lies in a valley basin and is accessible from three directions (North, South, West). Coming by car from ther North – take the A95 federal motorway (direction Garmisch-Partenkirchen) all the way to its end. Then follow the B2 for approx. 10 kilometres. A trip from Munich to Garmisch-Partenkirchen takes roughly 50 minutes.

TRAVELING FROM AUSTRIA

Coming by car from the South, take the E533 and then the B2 all the way to Garmisch-Partenkirchen (via Mittenwald – Klais – Kaltenbrunn). Another option to get to Garmisch-Partenkirchen is via the A12 Inntal motorway.

Due to the present weather situation with limited visibility from the fog today’s Men’s Super G Race has been canceled.

Arrival by train:

Destination station Garmisch-Partenkirchen

Exit „Zugspitzbahnhof/Zahnradbahn“, 2-minute walk to shuttle-bus or shuttle-train.

From there is a Bus Shuttle at no cost from 08:30 with a consistent frequency to Kandahar Arena. Also back to the parking spots after the race is over. Shuttle time is approx. 15 minutes

It is also possible to take the shuttel train free of charge from Zugspitzbahnhof at the Icestadium (Eisstadion) with “Bayerische Zugspitzbahn” to Kandahar- Arena/ trainstation “Kreuzeck“ at 09:15, 09:45, 10:15, 10:45 and 11:15, and back to Zugspitzbahnhof after the race.
Shuttle time is 10 minutes.

 

Arrival by car:

The Event-Area Kandahar Arena can not be reached by car, because no parking spots are available.

From P1 it is a 25-minute walk and from P2 it is a 30-minute walk to Kandahar-Arena

As an alternative it is possible to walk (15 minutes) to the trainstation Hammersbach (no parking lots available at the train station) and catch the free Shuttle-train free of charge with the Bayerische Zugspitzbahn towards Kandahar-Arena/ trainstation Kreuzeck, at 09:33, 10:33, 11:33, and back to Hammersbach after the race.
Shuttle time is 5 minutes.

Note to tour buses:

Tour buses should drive to the event site (An der Kandahar 11) to let passengers get off. 
Then drive to the P/S Eisstadion, Am Eisstadion, 82467 Garmisch-Partenkirchen,
to park.

 

Arrival by foot:

Of course, you can also walk to the race venue.
